What's the purpose of your life here on earth? To have as much fun as possible? Family? To be a better person (whatever than means?) Never even thought about it?
On Sunday 4th May we kicked off our Purpose Driven Life Campaign. We learnt that we were planned for God's pleasure, formed for God's family, created to become like Christ, shaped for serving God and made for mission.
Why don't you join us for the next 40 days and get a Christian perspective on why you were put on this earth. Our pastors will give a message on Sunday mornings (which will be repeated on the following Sunday evening, in case you miss one). We will also be reading The Purpose Driven Life book and discussing everything in a small group.

Position Vacant - Youth Pastor
Southport Baptist Church is looking for a youth pastor to care for youth and oversee children’s ministry within the church. The church youth group consists of around 20 non-churched Junior High young people. The children’s ministry is currently staffed by volunteers and consists of a play group, Kids club and a Sunday School.
The church currently has two full time pastors employed. The incoming youth pastor will be expected to fit into the existing team, by meeting with the other pastors on a weekly basis, being accountable to the senior pastor and developing an effective youth ministry in a Gold Coast culture which will integrate into the church culture. Jordan Morrell
Jordan, a young autistic boy is making huge improvements using an approach called Son-Rise. For the past 3 years Jordan's parents and volunteers have invested between 40 and 70 hours each week, spending 1-on-1 time with Jordan in "his" play room.
On 5th June, Jordan, together with his parents Jason and Kerry-Ann, and Ken, a dedicated volunteer, are heading to the USA to attend a week of advanced SonRise training. Southport Baptist Church have suppored their fundraising efforts during th elast 12 months and we have just reached and exceeded our financial target.
Autism affects 1 in 166 children, up from 1 in 10,000, 15 years ago. Apart from helping Jordan, our vision is to make a documentry and set up a training and/or respite centre to help the many other parents of autistic children locally . . . Read more
