Bushfire Appeal

Bushfire AppealPlease continue to pray for all those who have lost family members in the Victoria bush fires that they might know God's peace and comfort during this time.  Can you pray for the kids who have lost mums and dads, the wives and husbands who have lost their spouses and for those who witnessed others who have died in the fires.  Can you pray for protection for those in assisting roles , the bush fire brigades, the professional fire fighters and the army and police who have the grim task of identifying the burned bodies.  Ask God to have mercy upon the people of Victoria who have so far escaped trouble and for his healing on those who have suffered losses.

The Baptist Union will distribute any funds received in the following ways:-

  • Emergency aid for food, clothing and personal needs
  • Emergency accommodation
  • Transitional community services that have been interrupted by the bushfires e.g. child care
  • Bereavement and counseling
  • Initial clearance and rebuilding preparation
  • Other services as advised by pastors and chaplains that are closest to the need.

You can make donations in the following ways (donations are tax deductible) 

  • Write a cheque payable to Baptcare and post to PO Box 230, Hawthorn VIC 3122
  • Visit www.baptcare.org.au and make a donation by credit card.
  • Place your clearly-marked donation into the church offering bag on Sunday.
