| Home groups
Home groups are an essential part of church life. While it is good to meet together for corporate Sunday worship, often the relationships you build with people are only skin-deep. It is only by attending smaller groups, such as home groups that you can develop relationships that go deeper than a quick chat about the sport over a coffee and a biscuit. It is important to have a network of friends in whom you can confide and share the joys and tribulations, the hard times and the successes of life.
We have a number of home groups that run at Southport Baptist Church.
Warren & Sue Patch's home, Ashmore, Tuesday, 7:30pm to 9pm
Phone Warren or Sue on (07) 5539-2915 for more details.
This group contains an eclectic (not sure what it means but it sounds good!) mix of people aged from 20-something to some who are a little more mature (like good cheddar). The group is led by Bob Lowry, one of the church elders. Discussion is lively and provocative.
Jeff & Jennifer Shield's home, Helensvale, Tuesday, 7:30pm to 9pm
Email Jeff or phone (07) 5502-3049 for further details.
Jason & Kerry-Ann Morrell's home, Labrador, Tuesday, 7:30pm - 9:30pm
Email Jason, call Jason on 0405 760 820 or call Kerry-Ann on 0405 760 822 for more details.
Everyone is welcome. If you are a parent with young kids, this group caters for you. We meet at 7:30pm for food, start the study around 8pm and finish around 9:30pm. If you do have kids, feel free to come a bit earlier to get them settled. There are cots or beds available if you want to put them to sleep. The group meets at Jason & Kerry-Ann's home in Labrador and is led by Sandra Coombs.
