Play Group | Southport Baptist Church

Playgroup is held each Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30am at the church premises located on the corner of Nerang and Eugaree Streets in Southport.

OUR AIM

The leaders of Playgroup firmly believe that God has a special plan and purpose for everyone, including children, and that we are all unique and special. We aim to create an atmosphere where children and parents alike feel that they are special.

Our Playgroup aims to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where parents can spend quality time with their children. It is also a place where parents can help and encourage each other in the challenging task of raising children by sharing experiences, ideas and suggestions.

OUR MORNING

Time is spent with the children playing games, creating artwork, singing and dancing and generally having a great time together. We begin the morning with free play where there are a variety of toys and activities for the children to enjoy. Each week during free play there is also a craft activity where a simple craft item is created by the children to take home with them.

At 10:30 we pack up and enjoy morning tea together. Parents are asked to bring along morning tea for their children while the parents share their own morning tea over a cup of tea or coffee. This is followed by singing, playing musical instruments, dancing and a variety of other special musical activities. We finish the morning by singing our goodbye song.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

Parents and leaders also enjoy the occasional night out together to build stronger relationships and to enjoy some time together without their children.
